The Latest Changes to Ontario’s Excess Soil Regulations: How Owners, Contractors and Excavation Trades Can Manage Evolving Risks
The tenth round of changes to O Reg 406/19 (Excess Soils) came into effect late last year, coming with it a delay to the prohibition on the deposit of excess soil at landfilling or dump sites, which has been pushed to January 1, 2027, and greater flexibility in both types of reuse projects and types of excess soils appropriate for reuse. Join us as we provide an overview of the structure and technical requirements (as well as the latest changes) to Ontario’s excess soil regulation with our guest, Stacy Meek, who is an environmental engineer and qualified person (QP) at EXP Services Inc.
WSIB, OHSA and the Law: Perspectives from Industry Experts
In this webinar we are joined by experienced Occupational Health and Safety lawyer Luiza Vikhnovich, who regularly regularly conducts investigations into critical injuries, workplace harassment and discrimination and who was once seconded to the Ontario Labour Relations Board, and WSIB lawyer Angela Powell, who has more than 20 years’ experience in both private and public practice having previously worked for 12 years for the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board as Chief Legal Officer and in various policy and strategy roles as Vice President and Director. We greatly look forward to ‘picking the brains’ of these two experienced experts!
This Webinar is part of a series in which we offer free 1 hour seminars every Tuesday morning, from 8:30 – 9:30 am, on a variety of timely issues and topics. Our goal is to provide focused and practical information, and to conclude each session on the hour with additional time then set aside for questions and discussion for those that want to stay behind. We hope to see you there!
