An Overview and Update on Ontario’s Excess Soils Regulation

Ontario’s new regulatory regime for On-Site and Excess Soil Management (Regulation 406/19) is continuing to evolve with, most recently, a two-year postponement to anticipated changes related to the deposit of excess soils at a landfilling sites or dump sites (now to be coming into force on January 1, 2027).

Join us as we provide an overview of the structure and technical requirements (as well as the latest proposed changes) to Ontario’s excess soil regulation with Freesia Waxman, an environmental engineer (and QP-ESA) at Grounded Engineering Inc. with over 14 years of experience in the fields of environmental engineering and hydrogeology.
